Journey Across Italy-Day 7

Day 7- Sunday December 25th

Buon Natale! This morning we opened gifts at our Airbnb before taking a van to the central train station, Roma Termini. We took a train to Florence, thus beginning the “Across” portion of our Italy trip.

There are several different train companies choose from. This one, Frecciarossa high-speed trains, operated by Trenitalia, was recommended to us by our Airbnb host and we were very happy with it.

Trains, as opposed to local metros, have assigned seating. Most seats are 2 together but some are four facing each other. We selected these seats ahead of time when we purchased our tickets on line.

It was only about 90 minutes from Rome to Florence by train.
