Journey Across Italy- Day 6

Day 6- Saturday December 24th

Christmas Eve and our last full day in Rome. We began the day by searching for (and finding!) the statue called the Ecstasy of St. Teresa located in St. Mary della Vittoria. We took a long walk past the Pantheon (about which time we stopped for lunch) and Castel Sant Angelo back through St. Peters’s Square which was empty and mostly blocked off in preparation for Christmas Eve mass. That evening we attended church at our neighborhood cathedral followed by locally made lasagna for dinner.
